“Weaving Our Gifts,” a national conference originating with the Center for Children and Theology in Washington, D.C. that will be held on Friday, October 27th and Saturday, October 28th from 12:00 to 5:00 each day.

This is a Conference for Catechists and others interested in children’s ministry. The keynote speaker, The Rev. Canon Stephanie Spellers will be livestreamed to satellite locations across the country, which will host discussions, in-person workshops and opportunities to network or socialize.

Trinity Episcopal Church in Randolph is hosting a satellite location.

Canon Spellers will address two issues of critical importance to our work with children: the place of children in our changing church landscape, and the intersection of children’s faith formation and bias and racism in the country and our churches. Canon Stephanie has many gifts and a rich perspective to add to our tapestry. She is one of the Episcopal Church’s leading thinkers and consultants on 21st century ministry and mission. She serves as one of three canons to the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church, the Most Rev. Michael B. Curry. In this role (similar to an executive vice president) she guides the church’s work around evangelism, reconciliation and creation care.

A graduate of Harvard Divinity School and Episcopal Divinity School, Spellers has published five books including Radical Welcome and The Church Cracked Open. She has spent years studying religion and social change movements. This is a unique opportunity to hear her speak on the intersection of her research and thinking with children’s formation.
